I'm actually not too worried about people thinking ill of me since this really isn't for any sort of audience, I just like the practicality of writing my thoughts in a deletable blogspot account rather than a physical diary.
I'd like to offer my half-arsed, uninformed, possibly misinformed take on ethics and to avoid the necessity of pissing about with a metric fuck-ton of "I think"s, "in my opinion"s and "if you ask me"s I'm just going to state all this as if it were fact so don't mistake it as any mote of self-assurance from the guy who answers most questions put to him with "possibly" and other such non-committal phrases.
There are many people who at least once in a while would like experience violence and they know that the opportunity won't come along everyday. In a situation where violence has occurred or is occurring one crucial factor is present, the person who threw the first punch felt that they were entitled to do so or that they would suffer no consequences from doing so. Everyone has a line at which they will attack their fellow man, for the best of us this line is simply labelled "self defence" and the defence of others. For others it's drawn at various different points of severity. A persons line can be decided unconsciously but it's probably not rare that they've consciously thought at some point when they can assault someone without any (or too many) consequences.
It's possible that I'm dancing around trying to logically justify pacifism but I prefer to think we could all just buck the trend by being a little more indiscriminate in the undertaking of violence.

A grief stricken first blog

In all the facets of the human experience there is no blow more crushing than a minecraft lava death.
This is the kind of event that occurs deep underground. Usually the large areas of lava necessary of the average minecraft lava death is found after long periods of exploration and mining. I wouldn't mind traipsing back to the point I died at to get my stuff but this is the main aspect the lava death, the inevitable realization that in that moment right after you died, when you weren't looking that lava decided that the 6 diamonds, 20-odd gold and about 100 hundred iron that you'd spent the last 3 hours collecting wasn't really what you needed right now.
No, it knows what you like and thought it'd just go ahead and put a creeper in your house.

Fuck minecraft
